Overview
To get started building on Atlas, you will need to interact with Atlas nodes. There are two options: run a node locally using the Atlas RPC Node or use a third-party node from one of Atlas’s providers listed on the following page.
Third-Party Node Providers
Atlas partners with reliable RPC providers like Helius that offer managed node services with specific rate limits and availability guarantees. This is the recommended option for most developers.
Self-Hosted Atlas RPC Node
For teams requiring more control or higher request limits, the Running an RPC Node section provides instructions for setting up and running an Atlas RPC Node. It covers:
- Machine specifications and hardware requirements
- External dependencies and connection details
- Step-by-step setup instructions for both binary and Docker installations
- Kubernetes deployment configuration
- Various deployment options including a low CPU mode for less powerful machines
This documentation is intended for developers who want to operate their own Atlas RPC node.
What is the Atlas RPC Node?
The Atlas RPC node serves as a robust solution for developers requiring direct control over their node infrastructure, providing Solana-compatible JSON-RPC endpoints and transaction-handling capabilities.
The Atlas team will provide engineering support for teams building financial applications on the chain. For help and support or to share feedback, join the Atlas Developer Discord where you can talk to the team directly.
